Speakers…

Over the next few days, we’ll be going into a little bit more detail about exactly what we’re looking for from our speakers, sessions, expo projects, and associate producer roles. First up, is our call for speakers & session ideas.

Last year we had 65 speakers over our 29 sessions. These were mostly panels, with as diverse a range of people covering topics from licensing issues to prototyping & polishing to play and culture.

This year we want to mix up the format a little bit and while we have some ideas for how to do that, we’re open to new ones.

Ideas we have include microlectures that cover the one thing you wish you’d been told as a developer;  playfully engaging with the space of the theatrette or workshops or experimedia; and skeleton session ideas around politics, cultivating a development culture, measuring meaningful engagement, creative brainstorming, opportunities, and the global community. As with previous years we try to curate things as much as we can, but additional ideas are always welcome.  Sessions can be as lecture-like or as interactive as you like as long as they connect with our them of ‘Handmade’

In return, you’ll get a free ticket to what’s looking to be the biggest Freeplay ever(!), an invite to our exclusive artists party, and the warm glow that taking part hopefully brings.

To see previous year’s sessions, you can check out our YouTube Channel.

To register your interest for this year, you should fill out our database form or drop an email to speakers@freeplay.net.au
