This year, we had an amazing number of entries for our awards – 115, up from 35 last year. This huge volume meant that we brought in 2 new judges – Michael Theiler and our own director Paul Callaghan in addition to our original four to deal with them all.

Even with this increase, we’re sad to say that we didn’t receive enough entries for our Best On Paper Design category to properly judge it. Apologies to everyone who entered this year. We appreciate your hard work and we’ll be looking at bringing it back in 2013.

For the remaining categories, our judges were hugely impressed with the range, diversity, and originality of entries and together we found it really tough to bring it down to just 3 finalists – and the eventual winner in each. But we did it, and so here are the finalists for the 2012 Freeplay Awards.
