Ty Carey
Ty’s an Art Director with over 11 years experience in the Game Development Industry working at Torus Games in Melbourne. Previously he’d worked in Graphic Design and Advertising, jumping ship to games upon realising someone would actually pay him to draw and model monsters. He’s shipped up around 20 game titles on most major platforms, ranging from hand-held to high-end, recently completing two Scooby-Doo! titles on Wii and DS for Warner Games. During this time he’s worked as concept artist, modeler, texturer, lighting, UI and lead artist and sometimes as a combination of all at once. He also likes to get his hands into the guts of games and get them all bloody with a little game design. When he’s not making games, he’s illustrating and producing concepts for licenses like Dragon Age, League of Legends, Shadowrun and Warhammer.
Farbs
Hi, I’m Farbs. I sit in my house all day making videogames. Right now I’m working on Captain Jameson, which is a follow up to my earlier game CaptainForever in the same way as Mass Effect is a follow up to Space Invaders. It’s pretty big. You should play the alpha, which you can access by signing up as a Captain Forever supporter. It costs 20 US dollars so it may be more or less free by the time you read this.
Captain Jameson only takes up half my time however, with the rest spent on Card Hunter, a fun collaboration with Irrational co-founder Jon Chey. Card Hunter is a simulation of the nerdy CCG / Board Game experience, so between it and Jameson I experience the full spectrum of gaming, from orcs to astronauts.
Were I trying to establish my credibility in this bio I’d probably mention that I’ve been a professional game developer for ten years, and I made three of the “250 Indie Games You Must Play” and one of the “1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die”, as listed in the respective publications. Also I won some awards and stuff.

Drew Taylor has a passion for videogame culture and a broad range of experience in international games publishing, marketing and journalism. He has had the pleasure of working with the likes of Bethesda, Blue Tongue, 5th Cell, Studio Australia, ACMI, GameSetWatch and Hyper, among others, and held the position of Associate Public Relations Manager at THQ Asia Pacific for a number of years, where he came up with the initial concept for the uDraw peripheral and jointly received the 2008 IEAA award for Best Marketing Campaign (under $150,000) for Drawn to Life. Drew is a lifelong gamer (dating back to pre-Atari 2600 days), has a strong interest in videogame art, interactive fiction, and accessibility gaming, and loves to explore new games journalism. Drew has 4-y-o triplets, including two autistic sons and a daughter named after a videogame character.
Steve Fawkner
Steve Fawkner is currently the Design Director at EA/Firemint, but is probably better known for his 21 years at the helm of Infinite Interactive, creating hit series such as Puzzle Quest, Warlords and Warlords Battlecry. A veteran of the games industry with over 2 decades of experience, Steve is still as passionate about games today as he was when he discovered his first Space Invaders Arcade Machine all those years ago. When he’s not in the office creating games, Steve’s hobbies include sitting at home creating more games, sitting at other people’s homes playing games, and sitting in cafes thinking about games.
