Introductions

Postby Paul » Fri Aug 21, 2009 9:41 pm

Hi,

This is the place to introduce yourself.

I'll go first.

I'm Paul Callaghan, and I'm the Co-Director of the Freeplay Independent Games Festival. I'm also a freelance writer, and I can do impromptu stand-up to kill time when necessary.

I'm Andre Spierings

I'm a full time indie flash game dev. I've been doing this now for 9 months. I work with Daniel Cook who is internet famous for his blog. Check it out if you like reading http://lostgarden.com

Our main project at the moment is http://bunnibunni.com and we are working hard to get a more social version of the game out within 2 months. So I am generally fairly flat out doing that or being a daddy.

I really look forward to meeting with other developers to prove that we do have an underground game industry in Melbourne that is worthwhile.

:) Anything else you want to know just ask.

Yo! I'm Matt Tierney.

I'm a musician, artist and indie game lurker. I've been to a few Freeplays now, and was on the advisory board this year. I tinker around with code in the processing programming language, where I make little graphical programs. Hopefully get some games happening soon! (i got a working version of Pong happening recently :) I also run a blog at http://mattleaf.com/blog ... tho I'm currently in the process of updating the Wordpress theme and migrating all of my old site content into the new format (so it's a little messy at the moment)... Otherwise you should be able to find everything else @ http://mattleaf.com

Nice work on getting a forum up guys!

Hello.
My name is Michael Sanders, and I'm addicted to indie games.

Well, a bit about what I do; I'm a programmer by trade, I've worked in a few different fields from software designed to engineer roof trusses to working on Kmart Australia's (terrible) array of websites.
I have programmed many prototypes, but haven't released anything I'm proud of yet (I'm not even sure if the stuff I have released still exists...)

I'm pretty bad at keeping in touch with forums, so don't expect to see me posting much :-P

Thanks for setting up this forum though, I've been wanting a hub to connect with other indie developers in my area for a while.

Hi my name's Alex and I'm a web developer. I've been playing vidgames my whole life and I'd like to find the time to make a couple of indie games one day. I've made a few prototypes/demos but never a complete game. I'm hoping to meet people who're interested in collaborating (just for fun/hobby purposes).

Hi,

I'm Rob, and I'm a freelance app developer, with a fair chunk of interest in doing indie stuff (mainly for myself).

I'm currently working on some side stuff, as well as going through the motions to get my first game Meteor Swarm up onto Xbox Live Indie Games.

I've got some interest in wanting to fiddle about with other bits of coding as well (bit of Flash, and hoping into doing some native iPhone stuff too), and hoping to see that there's some indie stuff in good old Melb too :)

Hey guys,

My name is Tim. I'm a writer by trade (word guy, not code writer). Writing for games is a personal interest I'd really like to explore further. Happy to talk to anyone about projects where you might need someone to craft some copy, or delve a little deeper into narrative-type elements, or characters.

That's me.

G'day to all,

I'm Andrew Bittman, I was presenting Cosmos Concerto, our indie game, in Experimedia in Freeplay. You can find more about it here: http://www.tsumea.com/forum/19 (until we actually get our own website).

I'm a bit of a wannabe game/level designer, however the production and business side also interests me quite a lot. Bit of a jack-of-all-trades / master-of-none, but it's much more fun that way I find.
