Paul Callaghan
Paul Callaghan is a freelance writer and game developer. Over the past 10 years, he’s worked as a programmer, designer, writer, and teacher in the games industry both here and overseas. An active member of both the development and education community, Paul has presented on topics such as Writing for Video Games at Freeplay and the National Screenwriters’ Conference, the fundamentals of play at Game Connect Asia Pacific, Critical thinking about Video Games at the Victorian IT Teacher’s Association conference, and game design at ACMI events and career expos around Melbourne. He has also appeared on ABC2’s Good Game show discussing games addiction and our need to play. Currently, he is working with a number of local developers on story and script content, contributing game specific content to the Victorian IT Teachers Association professional development program, and running workshops and presentations for schools about how games work and paths for getting into the industry.

Eve Penford-Dennis
Eve Penford-Dennis has over 15 years in game development both in Victoria and overseas as an artist, outsourcing manager, and teacher. In addition to her extensive development experience, Eve has been instrumental in spearheading a number of initiatives aimed at improving conditions within the industry. She runs the Australian Women in Games site & groups; has spoken at the Australian Game Developers Conference; has taken part in the Game Connect Asia Pacific Skills Forum; is a member of numerous advisory boards for Deakin University, Verve, and Multimedia Victoria; and is a mentor with VIC ICT for women. Eve was also an active member of the Freeplay 2007 steering committee and responsible for the highly successful Game Girls event, held at ACMI in March 2008, one of the first targeted public events to encourage women into the games industry.
