Hello, please welcome our brand new branding!

 

As Freeplay enters its 20th year, we realise we need to move out of home and spread our wings. We will always carry the anarchic, resistant flame that created us, but we need to stand tall and be seen as a beacon for our community, not just among the games festivals and conferences, but among cultural festivals across mediums such as Fringe, MIFF and Melbourne Writers Fest. This rebrand embraces the dynamic and playful medium we champion with dozens of logo designs, replacing one another across posters, social media and every time you refresh the website. We have also positioned Freeplay as the umbrella organisation, providing our core events of Parallels, Angles and the Awards.

 

The collaborator is just as important as the vision, and we were stoked to work with IO Design Company to achieve the new branding. IO is a local studio working with creatives across many industries, playing with fonts and shapes in truly fascinating ways.
